2006 Service Learning Program
July 19 – August 21
The Wang Foundation’s first Service Learning Program was launched on July 19, 2006 when 68 American students, 8 American professors plus 441 Tsinghua students and faculty members assembled at Tsinghua University to begin their one-week orientation. The faces in the photo above aptly reflect the full range of emotions one might expect at the beginning of such a monumental endeavor, but if there were one common sentiment that prevailed that day, it would be the indomitable spirit of hope that fueled their commitment to build a better world.
